History Of The Technique | Existed since generations. |
Manufacturing technique | Small wooden structures like small rooms are built on a slightly raised site in the field or near residential area for storing potatoes. These structures are made of wooden planks nailed into each other. The planks are nailed horizontally on four supporting structures (forming the four corners of the store) so that the second plan overlaps half of the first one and simultaneously the third overlaps the second one and this is continued till the desired height usually about 10 feet is reached. |
Method of Preparation | The structures made is covered on top with tin roof. A gap is left between the roof and walls for aeration. |
Material Composition | These structures are made of wooden planks nailed into each other. |
How to implement | These storage structures are utilized for short term as well as long term storage for seed as well as ware potatoes. |
